Jon Kyl

Jon Kyl is set to discuss presidential politics and the coming 2008 congressional session during a couple of radio interviews Friday, Jan. 11.

Expect Kyl to give extra attention to the presidential prospects of his friend and fellow senator from
Arizona John McCain. Kyl holds a top spot on McCain’s campaign and traveled to New Hampshire to stump for him before that state’s primary election on Tuesday.

Kyl will be a guest on the John C. Scott show at 7:33 a.m. on KVOI 690 AM in Tucson.

Then Kyl will talk for an hour on the Darrell Ankarlo show at 10 a.m. on KTAR 92.3 FM in the Valley.

  1. Tony Whitehorn Says:

Sen. Kyl’s support for the smug and sharp tongued McCain in the current election campaign is respected for its loyalty to McCain. McCain is a good candidate, but he is just not the best candidate to be either the Republican nominee or the next President. Romney has the respect of many for his values, his common sense, and executive skills and experience.

Though understandable, Kyl is missing the boat by placing personal loyalty above the interests of American voters concerned for the future of this country. Most Arizona conservatives were disappointed when Kyl, previously a champion of strong borders and enforcement of the 1986 Amnesty provisions, suddenly bolted to the “comprehensive” crowd led by John McCain - to support the new version of amnesty, colored a pale gray to claim it not the same.

Flip Flopping is a fact of life in politics - politicians flip flop, voters flip flop. Out of this, politicians tune their issues and voters tune their choices. Flip Flopping can be redemptive and I, for one, would welcome Kyl back.
